Shira Hime Ryu Assembled

from Shira Hime Ryu by César Dávila-Irizarry

/

about

Shira Hime Ryu is music composed by Cesar Davila-Irizarry (American Horror Story) to accompany the dance piece of the same name by New York based butoh dance performer Yokko. This music is an intense and creeping journey into and from the animalistic needs that fulfill desire. An experience that transforms musical instruments into ferocious cries of struggle, and the sounds of objects and animals into harmonies that rip your soul into the pieces that make up the collage of our intimate joy and pain.

Shira Hime Ryu Assambled is the entire piece. It is named "Assembled" because the end and beginning of the second and third movements ("Movimientos") crossfafade with the previous and following movements making the whole a nonstop profound experience.
